Canada’s George Brown College offers overseas students the chance to study in the country with the help of scholarship funding. Numerous grants, scholarships, and bursaries are available to overseas students at George Brown College. All students, whether they’re enrolled full- or part-time at GBC, are welcome to apply for the grants and scholarships. George Brown College’s Awards program provides students with financial support to help them succeed in school.
George Brown College Scholarships
To be eligible for any of the scholarships listed below, students must apply via STU-VIEW by selecting International Center Scholarships and be enrolled full-time in the program as an international student.

Assist on Scholarship for International Students in Two-year Programs
The Assist on Scholarship for International Students in Two-year Programs was made possible by a monetary donation from Assist on Global Service in Canada Ltd. (Kimokran 16 Toronto Inc.). This scholarship is made available to any and all overseas students registered at George Brown College who are enrolled in one of the programs that fall under the aforementioned categories.
Applicant criteria
- The applicant must maintain a 3.0 Min GPA or higher
- The applicant must be actively involved in the community (college and/or external)
International Centre Student Bursary
This award is open to any and all overseas students registered at George Brown College who are enrolled in one of the college’s programs, regardless of their year of study.
Applicant criteria
- The applicant must display financial need
- The applicant must be actively involved in the community (college and/or external)
International Student Leadership Award
Any international student who successfully completes their program is eligible for the award.

- applicant must be an international student
- Minimum GPA of 3.5
- The applicant must be actively involved in the Community (college and/or external)
International Student ESL Scholarship
A student currently enrolled in the ESL program is eligible to apply for the International Student ESL Scholarship.

- applicant must be enrolled in the 3rd module.
- The applicant must be actively involved in the Community (college and/or external)
International Student Scholarship
Any overseas student who is enrolled full time in a program is eligible to apply for the International Centre Student Scholarship.

- applicant must be an international student
- applicant must display financial need
- Minimum GPA of 2.5
- Student must overcome obstacles
Kimokran (Toronto) Scholarship for International Students
Kimokran 16 Toronto Inc. has made a monetary contribution toward the Kimokran (Toronto) Scholarship for International Students so that it can be established. All registered international students at George Brown College who are in their second year or above and enrolled in one of the programs that fall under this category are eligible to apply for this award.
Applicant criteria
- The applicant must maintain a 3.0 Min GPA or higher
- applicant must be a registered domestic student
- The applicant must be actively involved in the community (college and/or external)
Post-Secondary Scholarship for International Students – Certificate
Students enrolled in the Certificate, Post-grad program, regardless of their year of study, are eligible for the award.

Post-Secondary Scholarship for International Students – Diploma/Degree
The Post-Secondary Scholarship for International Students was made possible by a donation of monies from Academic Area. Students enrolled in a Diploma or Degree program who are in their second, third, or fourth year of school and participating in a recognized overseas work or study experience are eligible to receive the award.
Applicant criteria
- applicant must be an international student
- Minimum GPA of 3.5
- The applicant must be actively involved in the Community (college and/or external)
Scotiabank and the Scotiabank Bursaries
Students from other countries have been given the opportunity to compete for a total of one hundred $1,000 bursaries thanks to the generosity of Scotiabank and the Scotiabank Bursaries.
Applicant criteria
- applicant must be registered in a full-time program
- applicant must demonstrate a financial need

For the 2022-2023 Academic Year:
Winter 2023 – opens on December 12, 2022, until January 29, 2023 (11:59 pm)
Spring 2023 – opens on April 17, 2023, until May 28, 2023 (11:59 pm)
For the 2023-2024 Academic Year:
Fall 2023 – Application opens on August 22, 2023, and closes on October 15, 2023
Winter 2023 – Application opens on December 12, 2023, and closes on February 15, 2024
Spring 2023 – Application opens on April 18, 2024, and closes on June 15, 2024
